"The staff at Lougheed Dental Centre feel comfortable seeing children. Our philosophy is to work with the child, and not force them to do anything that they do not want to do. We take our time explaining each step of the procedure to minimize the fear of the unknown. However, should the child be too anxious or uncooperative, we will happily help your family find a paediatric specialist to address your child’s needs.
The Canadian Dental Association recommends that a child’s first dental visit occur before their first birthday. Tooth decay can occur as soon as teeth erupt. Decay can lead to pain and infection that not only affects the baby teeth, but may also affect the adult teeth that are growing underneath. It’s never too early to teach your children the value of good oral health."
